Stamped Concrete
Stamped Concrete allows for a multitude of designs and fits a variety of applications. Stamped Concrete is one of Puyallup Concrete Pros' most popular services.
We offer stamped concrete in a variety of forms. If you thought concrete is a versatile, wait until you see what we can do with stamped concrete. The variations and options are practically endless, and stamped concrete opens up a big world of opportunities for both commercial and residential concrete projects.
Before we go further, what is stamped concrete? Simply put, stamped concrete entails the installation of traditional concrete – but as the concrete sets and begins to cure, we apply large stamps and stencils to create distinctive shapes, textures, and patterns in the concrete. The concrete ultimately cures and preserves these impressions. The final product is a remarkably unique surface that oftentimes looks more like flagstone, brick, or rock – as opposed to concrete. In addition, we can dye the concrete before it goes down, to create color variations which further add to the uniqueness of your concrete. Stamped concrete has become increasingly popular for a variety of projects; and we can do it for practically any application. Because stamped concrete is an application technique, we can apply it to: patios, slabs, pathways, sidewalks, driveways, and more. Add color and texture, and you’ve got a highly unique driveway, patio, or surface to enjoy. The stamped concrete technique is also superior to other options in many ways. Puyallup Concrete does not offer concrete pavers, but we do see a high number of customers switch from pavers in favor of stamped concrete. Depending on the design elements, the costs can be similar. But stamped concrete has additional benefits that concrete pavers do not. Pavers are interlocking puzzle pieces made of concrete, stone, brick, or other materials. One would purchase a truckload of them, grade the ground and apply a foundation of gravel, level the workspace, and begin laying pavers. While these can look nice if applied accurately and carefully, pavers present a few issues. For one, pavers are likely to eventually settle, and can sink, or become uneven. This presents major issues for patios and walkways, as the uneven surface can create dangerous tripping hazards. Worse, once a paver begins to settle, it could expose the ground underneath it to additional moisture or water, which could further weaken the foundation on which the paver structure is built. Have weeds in your yard? Pavers may look nice, but present potential maintenance and upkeep nightmares when it comes to weeds. Because they consist of interconnected pieces, weeds are known to crop up in between paver cracks – and eliminating the root of those weeds can be impossible without pulling the paver, or dumping chemicals into the cracks. We prefer stamped concrete, or solid concrete patios and driveways over pavers, because these solid surfaces sidestep the issues discussed above. Pavers also cannot be customized all that much, where stamped concrete can be. Oftentimes, you’re limited to what is available in big box stores, and the selection can be scant. Contractors can have slightly better luck acquiring pavers, but can still face the same selection challenges. We recommend skipping the pavers and instead seriously considering stamped concrete – for its flexibility, quality, and ease of use. Stamped concrete has helped a number of our customers save money. Lots of money. We’ve heard from countless customers who want flagstone, inlaid river rock, or other expensive design elements. While we love the look of flagstone, it’s expensive, harder to move, and can be challenging to procure. Same goes for river rock, and other types of decorative applications. These items are also expensive. Concrete coloring and stamping, however, allows us to recreate similar results at a lesser cost, while delivering the elegance and appeal of more expensive options. Further, stamped concrete works exceptionally well if customers are trying to match or complement other project elements. Have a stone wall you want to tie into a Mediterranean-themed pool deck, but aren’t sure how to bring it all together? Through concrete dying and stamping, we can color the concrete with a tinge of lime yellow, and apply stamps to simulate cobble stones. Aiming for a country-side retreat feel, and love pavers, but want a better option? We can actually stamp concrete to appear as if it’s pavers – and usually for a very competitive price. The point is, there are a lot of options here. Let us know what you need and we’ll make it happen. Are you mid-stream on a concrete patio project, and encountered issues or setbacks? Are you unhappy with the way the final appearance of plain concrete is turning out? We get it. We’ve helped many customers like you, and we can be of assistance. We can enter a project mid-stream, assess the situation, and make a suggestion on a way-forward. Often times, we can pick up right where the project is, add another shallow layer of concrete, and imprint stamped concrete directly onto an existing surface. In some cases, we’ve picked up partially completed c, stamped oncrete installs, and finished them for thankful customers. We would be happy to do the same for you. Just give our team a call and let us know where you’re at. |
